How It All Started
In 1992, Roger Kennedy was looking forward to retirement when the opportunity presented itself to own his own business. With his wife’s blessing and her employment, Universal Steel Supply, Inc. was born. Since that time, the company has grown from one delivery truck to eight trucks delivering all kinds of metals which include steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
As the business grew, their sons and daughter joined the team, making Universal Steel a true family-owned business. Today, Universal Steel is run by three generations of the Kennedys as well as their extended family of some 25 employees. Each brings their knowledge and experience from previous careers to improve the business and push it forward.
Universal Steel Supply takes pride in providing the Low Country area with top-quality steel products and timely deliveries. Once located within the Georgia Ports, the USS warehouse is now located at 5005 Augusta Road in Garden City, Ga.
